The Ark introduces children to the joy, wonder and challenge of the arts. The Ark is located on Eustace Street in Temple Bar and allows children from the ages of 2 to 12 to explore everything from theatre, music and literature to painting, sculpture and dance. They discover what it means to be an artist, from respected professional artists as they work with a diverse range of Irish and international artists to develop original, inspirational and playful programmes for children so that they can extend their imaginations and horizons. The Ark is a charitable organisation that has organized a number of projects for children who are particularly disadvantaged   socio-economically. The Ark also offers performances and workshops at the weekends. The programme changes regularly and ranges across the arts. They present plays, exhibitions, workshops, festivals, concerts, readings, opera, dance, multimedia and much more. Many of these are participative and interactive. The Ark is open from 10am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday and one hour before scheduled events on the weekends. See The Ark’s website for more information. .
