Aran Islands

On the West Coast of Galway , The Aran Islands are steeped in folklore.

GALWAY-ARAN

Inis Mór is accessible from both Galway & Clare, and with several sailings each day it is possible to enjoy the trip to the island as a day trip. The island is rugged and beautiful. YOu can take a horse and cart ride or visit Dun Aonghasa, a 2000 year old fort on the edge of a cliff. To visit the fort you can walk (1km uphill)  but keep a close eye on little ones and bring a sling instead of or with your stroller. There is also an interpretive centre at the base of the hill leading to the fort with a cafe to warm up in. There are regular ferry services running from both Rossaveal Aran Island Ferries & Doolin Doolin Ferry Company to the Aran Islands.
