Albufeira is located close to Faro and offers both beaches and nightlife.

For those who want a quieter vacation the Old Town might be a good place to base yourself (e.g. the INATEL Albufeira) however the resorts outside of the centre tend be nicer and offer better facilities and kids pools. Albufeira old town has a central square decorated with trees and colourful shrubs and is surrounded by street cafés and restaurants, perfect  for a quiet meal or a cold drink.  The streets leading off the square offer clothes shops, leather goods, gift shops, street stalls and shops selling necessities such as milk and nappies.

The “strip” is located Avenida Dr. Francisco Sà Carneiro. The South end of the Strip is filled with busy bars, nightclubs and restaurants and the North end of the street is quieter with clothing and souvenir shops. You will also find a childrens playground on this street. A tourist train operates every 20 minutes  and travels between the Old Town and Strip. There is a great selection of family friendly restaurants in Albufeira and English is widely spoken. Menus will normally be available in English also.
