My name is Susan and I live in Cork City in the South of Ireland. I’m married with two kids, aged 2 and 4. I have a job that I like and run this website on the side because I LOVE travel and eating out above all else. Since having my first child, I have been determined never to stop travelling or eating out no matter how hard it gets. I have adapted over time and now try to find places which are child friendly, loud and busy so that I don’t get too stressed!
I started this website after my first child was born in 2014. I was so determined to keep seeing the world that I booked a trip to Malaysia and Singapore when he was 8 months old. I was very cautious and researched the trip extensively. I worried about tropical diseases, general health and safety, accommodation and food but found it really difficult to find any information online.
I realised there must be other parents like me out there and that people need information, no matter how close or far from home they are travelling so I started taking notes on this trip and then when I came back I started asking my friends about their travel experiences. Some said they wouldn’t go away until their kids were much older and some wanted to find baby and child friendly destinations which would allow the whole family to enjoy themselves.
I decided to start Kinder Travel Guide in 2015 and gathered as much information as I could from other parents and from research carried out on my own trips and online in places like Rollercoaster, Mumsnet and other parenting blogs.
I wanted to give practical advice on what products were available for babies and toddlers, accommodation, restaurants and anything that would help parents to enjoy travel, both at home and abroad with babies and young kids.
I hope you find the site useful and I always love to hear from parents either with little pieces of information or with articles written by them so keep sharing!
