Portugal with a Baby or Toddler

Portugal is quite a diverse country and the weather varies from region to region. July and August is the high season and you can expect crowds and a price increase of 30% during this time. The temperatures can be very hot during this time so make sure to use factor 30+ sun block if your child is older than 6 months and if not them out of direct sunlight by using a buggy shad, parasol or UV sun tent. You can also buy UV protected swim wear and swimming hats that cover the back of your child’s neck.

From April to June and September and October the weather is still warm but not as uncomfortable. This is a great time to visit if your kids are not yet in school. The resorts are not as crowded during this time but the ocean is cooler. For average monthly temperature charts, region by region please click here.
