Florence and Tuscany

Florence has many hotels but the rooms tend to be small and most hotels do not have pools or open areas to run around however, there are some good options for babies and toddlers. An apartment from Airbnb or Friendly Rentals is an option if you need a bit more space for toddlers to run around or you could also opt to stay in a hotel in the hills around the city. These hotels may not be as central but you will be able to walk to the city while enjoying better amenities and larger rooms. Many of the hotels and apartments will not have swimming pools. Click here for a guide to Florence’s public pools which are dotted around the city and offer a break from the hot summer days!

There are a number of hotels located in and around Florence which are very baby and toddler friendly including:

Lungaro Suites

The Lungarno Suites are located on the River Arno, a minute’s walk from the Ponte Vecchio.  They offer spacious apartment-like rooms, each with a kitchenette and sliding doors between the bedroom and living/dining area. This hotel has no restaurant, but two of the others, Hotel Continentale and Gallery Hotel Art, are on the same square, and the latter serves a delicious breakfast (buffet or à la carte) in the library.
