Fuerteventura has the biggest and best beaches in the Canary Islands archipelago. The 340 kilometres (210 miles) of coastline with white sandy beaches in Fuerteventura and crystal clear waters offers great opportunities for beach lovers.
Acua Water Park
Acua Water Park is one of the most popular theme parks and attractions in Fuerteventura. The park is located on the southern Corralejo and the only water park of the island.
Oasis Park (La Lajita Zoo) is a great attraction for kids and families. The Zoo is located in La Lajita and houses hippopotamus, giraffes and over 200 species of birds. There is also a botanical garden at the zoo.
Dolphin Safari is a great excursion on the northern coast of Fuerteventura. Holidaymakers are able to sail with dolphins.
Submarine Safari is a great attraction which allows kids to experience the marine life hidden beneath the sea surrounding Fuerteventura. Tours are available from Corralejo and Castillo Corralejo. A trip on the submarine costs €63 for adults and €33 for kids over 3.
Take a Boat Trip to the Isla de Lobos
You can take a boat trip from the harbour in Corralejo between 10am and 4pm. It takes 15 or 20 minutes to reach Isla de Lobos which is a volcanic nature reserve free from traffic. Visitors are dropped off at a pier with trails leading to various beaches, lagoons and a lighthouse. You can bring a picnic and remember to bring water and shade. There is a
restaurant on the island and you can also walk around and explore a bit with older toddlers. Ask at your hotel or at the local tourism information office for details on the best parts of the island to go with kids.
Baku Waterpark has a slow river, wave pool, playground and jumping castle and is located just outside of Corralejo. There’s a good mix of activities for all ages here including a fantastic toddler area (pictured). Day tickets are €25 per person, and lockers cost €4 extra. It is possible to get discounts from some hotels or by buying seven-day tickets.
