Top Berlin Attractions for Families

Some of the top attractions for younger visitors include the LEGOLAND Discovery Centre,  the Berlin Zoo, the Aquadom & Sealife Aquarium as well as a host of child friendly museums such as the Natural History Museum and the Technology Museum. Labyrinth Kindermuseum is designed especially for young kids and has loads of interactive displays. Madame Tussauds Berlin is another great option with some child friendly displays.

Another great option is a river cruise (from close to Alexanderplatz) and kids will love the Domane Dalham, a manor house where youngsters can learn how the food comes from the field to the table. The children will love the animals, including cows, pigs, horses, sheep, goats, ducks and many more. This is a little bit of countryside in the city.

Tiergarten is the huge park in the centre of the city which begins at the Brandenburg Gate. This is well worth a visit and there is loads of open space for kids to run around. The Botantical Gardens are also worth a visit and offer the opportunity to take a rainforest walk in the city. There are loads of changing facilities within the city, particularly in department stores and you will be able to find high chairs in the vast majority of restaurants.

Remember that visiting a city with a baby or toddler can be exhausting. The best way to do it is to pace yourself and decide on a few places you really want to see and spend the rest of the time relaxing in the parks and taking in the city on foot.

The over ground and underground train services within the city are excellent and many of the stations have elevators and are stroller accessible. Try to avoid these at rush hour however. The hop on hop off bus is another hassle free way to explore Berlin as it is stroller accessible.
