Aquitaine is an extensive region of south-west France with a long coastline along the Atlantic Ocean (Bay of Biscay) and a mountainous border with Spain along the Pyrenees Mountains. The region is very family friendly and you will be able to find all of your baby and toddlers essentials along with hotels and restaurants which cater well to young children. The various regions of Aquitaine include Dordogne, Gironde, Landes, Lot-et-Garonne and Pyrénées-Atlantiques and the best known cities include Agen, Bayonne, Bordeaux (the capital), Mont-De-Marsan, Pau and Périgueux. St Emilion is another well known town in the region famous for its cobblestone streets, picturesque squares and wine production. Close to the Spanish border are Biarritz and St Jean de Luz, beach towns which are well loved by families.
